QGM are focused on four geological provinces; Drummond Basin, Georgetown Block, Eastern Mt Isa Fold Belt, Texas Block and the Omeo Structural Zone. Many large gold deposits were discovered defined and developed in the Drummond Basin and Georgetown Block since the early 1980s resulting in production of some 10 million ounces.

Several large copper - gold deposits were discovered and developed in the Cloncurry region since the early 1980s, with the major discoveries having no topographic expression being hidden by barren cover. The Texas Block has remains largely neglected over recent decades but research into gold deposit models suggests considerable potential particularly for Intrusive-Related Gold Systems.
