Buchanan Creek-Grants Gully- EPM 13235, EPM 13271, EPM 13694 & EPM 14244 and ML 3311, ML 30123 & ML 30208
HIGHLIGHTS

  • Target is a Greenbushes style pegmitie/granite/gneisen deposit.
  • Displays known tantalite mineralisation.
  • Potential for large hardrock tantalite resources and limited alluvial/eluvial resources of tantalite.
  • Lepidolite and amblygonite (source of lithium), both industrial minerals are secondary targets.
  • Potential for early cashflow from alluvial tantalite and lepidolite/amblygonite, and from alluvial gold.
  • QGM proposes to search for more pegmetite structures using air photograph interpretation, airborne magnetics, radiometrics and geological traversing, together with heavy mineral testing of eluvial/soil concentrations.
  • QGM will also overhaul the Grant’s Gully wet gravity plant and carry out bulk testing of alluvium/eluvium.
  • This will be followed by small scale alluvial mining, and RC and diamond drilling based on results.
  • Drilling is planned for August to test the mineralised outcrops to define open pit resources both on tantalite and gold targets.

Grants Gully – Buchanans Creek contains tantalite, cassiterite and rare lithium-bearing pegmatites, which occupy the exposed top of granite intrusive rocks. Substantial alluvial gold was recovered in the past from the same areas but currently the source of this is unknown. Geological mapping, bulk alluvial and eluvial testing, stream sediment and rock sampling will aim to supply modest production whilst defining drilling targets in the source rocks.
